How much blood is needed for a cytogenetic or molecular genetic test?

Normally, 2-4 ml of blood is enough. Cytogenetic tests require Heparin blood; all molecular genetic testing requires EDTA blood. In the case of newborns and infants, a smaller amount (1-2 ml) may suffice.
